This catches people out constantly, so it is worth being blunt about.
Reading Borough Council states that waste from traders, landlords or property developers is not permitted at the recycling centres without the appropriate permit, and that re3 runs a separate chargeable trade waste service for micro-sized businesses that must be registered for in advance. Check with the re3 partnership.
So there is a route, but it is a commercial one you pay for, and your equipment is processed for materials at the end of it.
Even if it were allowed, the practicalities rule it out. the re3 partnership requires a Click and Tip time slot booked in advance for any visit by vehicle, and requires proof that you pay council tax to Reading, Bracknell Forest or Wokingham. It refuses larger commercial vehicles and vehicle combinations outright, on safety grounds.
Businesses have a separate duty of care for waste electricals under the WEEE Regulations, and you are required to be able to show where the equipment went. That is what we give you: a documented collection, certified data destruction, and a waste transfer record.
Anyone moving your waste commercially has to be a registered waste carrier. We are — registration CBDU607333, checkable on the Environment Agency public register, and listed on our certifications page.

They will take it. But you will need proof that you pay council tax to Reading, Bracknell Forest or Wokingham, a car, and a free hour in opening hours — and the machine is processed for its materials. Nobody uses it again.
We collect from your door for nothing, wipe the data to NIST 800-88 standard, and if the machine still has life in it we refurbish it and pass it on. If it is genuinely dead, we recycle it responsibly — and tell you that is what happened.

RG1, RG2, RG4, RG5, RG6, RG30 and RG31 across the town, Caversham, Tilehurst, Earley and Whitley, plus RG7, RG8 and RG10 out through Theale, Pangbourne and Twyford.
We collect nationwide by courier, or send you a prepaid postage label if you would rather drop it off — there is no fixed local round to wait for, so book whenever suits you. Labels and QR codes are issued between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.
