It's Just Sitting There, Isn't It?
Be honest — when was the last time you opened that old laptop? It's been sat in a drawer, under the bed, or propping up a wobbly table leg for months. Maybe years. You upgraded, life moved on, and now it's just... there.
Here's the thing: that "useless" machine could be genuinely life-changing for someone else.
What Happens When You Donate
When you send us your old laptop or PC, three things happen — all completely free:
- Your data gets destroyed. Properly. Not a factory reset — sanitisation to the NIST SP 800-88 standard, verified drive by drive, with anything that fails verification physically destroyed. You get a certificate listing the device by serial number.
- We fix it up. New battery, fresh operating system, full health check. It leaves our workshop running like new.
- A young person gets their first computer. Schools, charities, families — we get it to someone who genuinely needs it.
The Real Numbers
Every device that comes in is one more person who gets to do their homework on a real keyboard instead of a phone. We publish the running totals rather than round numbers — you can see exactly where we are, and how it is calculated, on our methodology page.
So instead of letting it gather dust or chucking it in a skip — donate it. It takes 2 minutes to arrange, we pick it up for free, and you'll genuinely help someone.
