1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using the Sustainable Compute Network website and services ("Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access our Services.

2. Description of Services

Sustainable Compute Network operates as a profit-for-purpose social enterprise providing:

• Strategic IT asset disposal and transformation services
• Enterprise ITAD with ESG compliance reporting
• NIST 800-88 compliant secure data erasure
• ISO 14064 avoided emissions reporting
• Hardware re-missioning into educational and research infrastructure

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into contracts to use our Services. By using our Services, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.

4. Hardware Contribution Terms

Ownership and Title

By contributing hardware to SCN, you represent that:

• You are the legal owner or authorized representative
• The hardware is free of liens, encumbrances, or third-party claims
• You have the right to transfer ownership

Data Responsibility

While we provide NIST 800-88 compliant data erasure services, you are responsible for backing up and removing any sensitive data before hardware transfer. SCN is not liable for any data loss or unauthorized access to data remaining on contributed hardware.

No Monetary Compensation

Hardware contributions are processed through our strategic asset transformation model. No cash payment is provided. Instead, you receive:

• Zero-cost ITAD services (logistics, data erasure, processing)
• ISO 14064 compliant avoided emissions reporting for Scope 3 disclosures
• ESG impact documentation for corporate sustainability reporting

5. Use of Platform

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Services for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Violate any laws or regulations
• Infringe on intellectual property rights
• Transmit malicious code or viruses
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems
• Interfere with the proper functioning of the Services

6. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the Services, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, and software, are owned by Sustainable Compute Network and protected by UK and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

7. Third-Party Services

Our Services may contain links to third-party websites or integrate with third-party services. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of third-party sites or services.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by UK law, Sustainable Compute Network shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sustainable Compute Network, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising from:

• Your use of the Services
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Services immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Services will immediately cease.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
