The Patel family from Leeds were doing a big spring clean when they realised just how much old tech they'd hoarded over the years. Old laptops, tablets their kids had outgrown, a couple of desktop PCs, monitors, cables — 47 items in total.
One Phone Call
"I was going to take it all to the tip," says Raj Patel. "Then my daughter found SCN online and said we should donate instead. I called up, and they sent a van the next week."
The Result
- 23 devices were refurbished and sent to a local primary school
- 15 devices had usable parts harvested for other repairs
- 9 devices were fully recycled with zero landfill
"I had no idea our old junk could do all that," says Raj. "Now I tell everyone — don't bin it, donate it."
